B.Tech which is short for Bachelor Of Technology, is a course which is devised to familiarise and provide knowledge of using technology as a tool for problem solving purposes and achieving technical development for the whole humankind. B.Tech in One Year is an option for students with Break in Study or Diploma Holders which allows them to complete B.Tech in Single Sitting.
Eligibility for B.Tech In One Year
There are two main criteria which a candidate needs to fulfill to apply for B.Tech in One Year:
10+2 Qualification with maths and science subjects from a recognised board or equivalent.
Gap Years:- Any student who had to break study or discontinue study after admission in B.Tech course in any approved college can apply for admission in final year and complete his/her B.Tech in one year.
Diploma Holders:– If you discontinued study after intermediate and later acquired a diploma in any field of technology, you can pursue B.Tech in the same stream by getting admission through lateral entry. If you have completed one year diploma course then you are eligible for lateral entry into third year. For two year diploma holders, lateral entry is allowed directly into final year.

B.Tech in One Year Admission
Many AICTE & UGC recognised colleges provide admission to B.Tech One Year course on the basis of the following allowed norms:
#1 Credit Transfer:– If a student had taken admission in B.Tech course from an accredited college and then discontinued study, he/she can be admitted to another recognised college wherein the credits earned in the last academic institute are updated in their dossier. Students need not appear for subjects they have already passed and only sit for exams of the remaining subjects and clear them in one sitting.
#2 Breaking Study:– If the student had to discontinue study after two years of admission in any B.Tech stream from any accredited college, they are allowed to complete B.Tech in single sitting. Students only need to appear for exams and qualify all the exams of the remaining subjects in one terminal examination.
#3 Lateral Entry:- Lateral Entry into B.Tech course is another provision for students who discontinued study after intermediate and have completed any diploma in the field of technology. Depending upon the duration of their Diploma, students are admitted to third and fourth year of B.Tech program in the relevant stream.
Fees For B.Tech One Year Program:
Most colleges offering B.Tech in one year program deliver it through distance learning mode, consequently, the fees for One Year B.Tech is much less as compared to the total fees of the regular B.Tech program.
Total Fees For B.Tech Fast Track Program ranges between Rs.2.5 lacs to Rs.4.5 lacs.
This is far below the fees for a regular B.Tech program which costs above 8 lacs at the least and that is exclusive of hostel fees. Also, you get to complete
your degree in one sitting.
